"Our facility installed medDISPENSE automation to replace our paper system of controlled substance documentation and PRN medications in each patient's drawer. During the 3 day install the medDISPENSE staff performed all software installation and training of nursing, respiratory therapy and pharmacy staff. At the end to the install all of our staff was very comfortable with the use of the automation.

The push for the implementation of automation was partially to satisfy a requirement of participation from our last JCAHO survey and partially to decrease and prevent medication errors related to look-alike / sound-alike medications (e.g. Oxycontin / MScontin). After the installation of medDISPENSE with Profile Interface in January of 2005, our medication error rate went from 0.65 errors / 1,000 doses dispensed (2004 data) to 0.30 errors / 1,000 doses dispensed (2005 2nd Qtr data)."

"PSI started using medDISPENSE at the end of May 2004. Since then, PSI has gained impressive results for Zeeland Community Hospital. medDISPENSE in our ER alone has improved revenue capture from an average lost revenue of $6,000 to $10,000 per month to now around $100 per month. Thank you medDISPENSE!"

Having used competing systems (that were much more expensive!), I can assure you
medDISPENSE is a very user-friendly system that offers more for less. Customer support is friendly and efficient in handling requests. The nurses like the larger screen and the features that the profile system offers. We as an institution are happy with our decision to go with medDISPENSE.
