What started as a few visionary people with a new idea - to manufacture affordable medication dispensing automation for value-focused hospitals and clinics - spawned medDISPENSE; which today has grown into a vibrant company serving hundreds of customers. Here is how we got to where we are . . .
  • January 1997 - medDISPENSE originates as a division of HealthCare Systems (HCS) based in Montgomery, AL. HCS entered into a contractual agreement with Promedica, Inc., a Tampa-based manufacturing company, to build medication dispensing automation specifically designed to be affordable, easy to use and secure.

  • April 1998 - The first installation of medDISPENSE occurred at Noland Long Term Care Hospital in Montgomery.

  • January 1999 - Bill McClintock joins as President of medDISPENSE - still a division of HCS. Bill opens up the Atlanta office and assumed control of day to day operations at medDISPENSE. He creates a separate installation team and sales team focused solely on medDISPENSE.

  • January 2000 - medDISPENSE rolls out several new products and moves its service department to its Tampa manufacturing office. Later that year, medDISPENSE signs a corporate agreement with Select Medical Corporation.

  • January 31, 2001 - Bill McClintock purchases medDISPENSE from HCS; the company now has 43 client sites.

  • January 2002 - medDISPENSE through the IT development talents of Dave Bond and his team introduce a Patient Profile system interfaced with client pharmacy software systems.

  • February 2003 - medDISPENSE exceeds 100 customer sites and responds to customer suggestions by introducing significant software and hardware advancements.

  • March 2004 - medDISPENSE signs its 150th client. medDISPENSE expands to serve Nursing Homes, Veterinary Clinics, Ambulatory Surgery Centers and Psychiatric Hospitals in addition to med-surg hospitals.

  • November 2004 - medDISPENSE celebrates the addition of its 200th customer site.

  • June 2005 - medDISPENSE brings in a call center specialist from Capitol One, Matt Crossett, to serve as Director of Customer Support. Under Matt's lead, medDISPENSE retools its Customer Support Center to better serve our growing base clients.

  • July 2005 - medDISPENSE is installed in its first Federal Prison site; FCI Williamsburg.

  • November 2005 - medDISPENSE is recognized by KLAS as the "Specialty Niche Leader" in medication dispensing automation.

  • January 2006 - medDISPENSE hires Ramon Rodriguez to join Dave Bond in developing a .NET-based software system to better meet the needs of our larger client sites.

  • October 2006 - medDISPENSE customer list tops the 400 mark.

  • December 2006 - In response to grassroots demand, medDISPENSE selects HEALTHMARK to be its exclusive distributor in Canada. In this same month, adds customer sites in Alaska and Puerto Rico.

  • January 2007 - Recognizing its rapid rise; CMS, a private equity firm, invests in medDISPENSE.

  • March 2007 - medDISPENSE debuts its .NET software and when the first install is a stunning success, releases it for general distribution.

  • July 2007 - medDISPENSE adds it 500th customer site.
