What started as a few visionary people with a new idea - make the safety and efficiency of automated medication dispensing systems affordable and available for all medical facilities - has become a successful company serving hundreds of customers. Here's a snapshot of our history:

1997 - January

medDISPENSE originates as a division of HealthCare Systems (HCS) based in Montgomery, AL. HCS selects Promedica, Inc., a Tampa manufacturing company, to build automated medication dispensing systems specifically designed to be affordable, easy to use and secure.

1998 - April

medDISPENSE installs its first system at Noland Long Term Care Hospital in Montgomery.

1999 - January

Bill McClintock joins as President of medDISPENSE, which is still a division of HCS. Bill opens the Atlanta office and assumes control of operations, creating a separate medDISPENSE installation team and sales group.

2000 - January

medDISPENSE rolls out several new products and moves its service department to its Tampa manufacturing office. Later that year, medDISPENSE signs a significant corporate agreement with Select Medical Corporation.

2001 - January

Bill McClintock purchases medDISPENSE from HCS; the company now has 43 client sites.

2002 - January

medDISPENSE, through the IT development talents of Dave Bond and his team, introduce a Patient Profile system interfaced with client pharmacy software systems.

2003 - February

medDISPENSE exceeds 100 customer sites and responds to customer suggestions by introducing significant software and hardware advancements.

2004 - March

medDISPENSE signs its 150th client and expands to serve nursing homes, veterinary clinics, ambulatory surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals in addition to medical/surgical hospitals.

2004 - November

medDISPENSE celebrates the addition of its 200th customer site.

2005 - June

medDISPENSE brings in a call center specialist from Capitol One, Matt Crossett, to serve as Director of Customer Support. Under Matt's lead, medDISPENSE retools its Customer Support Center to better serve its growing customer base.

2005 - July

medDISPENSE is installed in its first Federal Prison site, FCI Williamsburg.

2005 - November

medDISPENSE is recognized by KLAS as the "Specialty Niche Leader" in medication dispensing automation.

2006 - January

medDISPENSE hires Ramon Rodriguez to join Dave Bond in developing a .NET-based software system to better meet the needs of our larger client sites.

2006 - October

medDISPENSE customer list tops the 400 mark.

2006 - December

In response to grassroots demand, medDISPENSE selects HEALTHMARK to be its exclusive distributor in Canada. In the same month, the company adds customer sites in Alaska and Puerto Rico.

2007 - January

Recognizing the company's strength and potential, CMS, a private equity firm, invests in medDISPENSE.

2007 - March

medDISPENSE debuts its .NET software; when the first install prove to be a stunning success, releases it for general distribution.

2007 - July

medDISPENSE adds its 500th customer site.
